Upon arriving Don Mueang Airport, the driver met & greet us and we were escorted to the waiting area before being chauffeur to Peninsula Bangkok hotel with their iconic emerald green BMW 7 Series.
The BMW is equipped with free wifi, allowing us update our social media. We were given cold water & cold face towel to refresh ourselves.
The ride from Don Mueang airport to Peninsula Bangkok takes approx 45 mins. The ride was smooth and enjoyable.
With Saphan Taksin skytrain station just across the river, The Peninsula Bangkok provides guests complimentary ferry shuttle (restored beautifully from rice barges) to & fro allowing guests the convenience to get around Bangkok from the Peninsula Pier Lounge.
Upon arriving, we were lead to our room for check in thus skipping the usual queue at reception.
The spacious 506 sq ft Grand Deluxe Room is situated on the upper floors of the hotel. The room matches traditional Thai design featuring rich Thai fabrics, traditional ceramics and modern technology such as high-speed wireless internet access, mood lighting and electronically controlled curtains.
The grand deluxe room has a sitting area with sofa, coffee table and executive work desk. The ample natural lighting enhances the comfort level of the room, and not to forget the amazing Chao Phraya & Bangkok City skyline view.
The luxurious marble bathroom has dual vanity, separate shower stall, toilet cubicle & a bath tub.
One of the highlight of the hotel is definitely the exotic 88 meter 3 tiered pool
Unlike most hotels, the service is unparalleled. Within 5 mins after we seated, ice cold water was given to us. 15 mins later, cold face towel was provided and another 15 minutes later we were given small sorbet. All without asking!
And no, they dont give you “dont you want to order something” attitude, allowing everyone to enjoy comfortably and order drinks or cocktails as they pleased. Little gesture like these do set them apart from other hotels.
The Fitness Center is equipped with a comprehensive equipment & a workout trainer onsite allowing guests to get the most out of working out while away from home.
There is also a steam room, sauna and hot and cold plunge pools.
