Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore is a 4 star hotel located near Orchard Road and is the very first Hotel Jen to be rebranded from the long established Traders Hotel.
So why the revamp? Mainly to appeal the ‘New Jeneration’ of independently minded business and leisure travelers with a unique brand of style and service delivery designed to emphasizing on Fresh, Friendly and Fuss-free experience with the best locations in Asia Pacific.
To keep it simple, to target younger generations who are well traveled by providing the experience of a perfect stay they desired.

During our stay, the hotel is currently under the final phrase of renovation (slated to be completed by Dec 15), allowing us to experience the final transformation.
Instead of just leaving a mundane construction board for the lobby renovation, Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore engaged the Band Of Doodlers to doodle & draw an interactive art showcase to mark the last stage of a year-long revamp. All the the arts creatively depicting hotel guest activities in Singapore while staying in Hotel Jen Tanglin.
Upon arriving the hotel, we checked in at the temporary reception and proceed to the Club Floor which is where our room is located.

Our newly refurbished Club Room is contemporary designed with future travelers’ requirements in mind such as Shangri La Hotel’s signature luxurious comfortable king size bed & pillow, free high speed internet, universal power socket (adapter no longer needed), USB plug, day lounge sofa, LCD TV & movable work desk.
The new design emphasize on space maximization making the 25 sqm room more spacious & comfortable which is crucial especially with the soaring land cost in Singapore.

Bathroom
The bathroom is compact yet filled with all necessities needed and has a separated shower room with rain shower. In our opinion, a bathtub would make the room perfect.

Flight Mode Take Off
One quirky part is the bed design at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore. When turning on Take Off Mode, the light illuminates below the bed giving an impression a floating bed ready for a take off.
Swimming Pool
The hotel has a 30-metre-long swimming pool great for swim laps and an outdoor whirlpool for relaxation. Plenty sun loungers are available for sun bathers as well.

The all day dining restaurant is currently undergoing huge revamp, expected to be bigger & better than ever, hence as for the time being, guest can enjoy their daily buffet breakfast at Gallery Ballroom during weekdays & on weekends at Ah Hoi’s Kitchen.
Until Nov 2015, the special buffet breakfast spread Taste of Singapore at Ah Hoi’s Kitchen promises a variety of delectable local cuisine which we enjoyed during our weekend stay.

Unlike most hotels, Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore actually encourages hotel guests to take away the food if needed in consideration some hotel guests are in a hurry or sort of time to indulge in the hotel.
2 hotel guests we met were in town for marathon, hence by the time marathon ended, breakfast session will end as well. So with their room includes breakfast, they just “tapao” the food with the box & paper bag given & save the meal once they complete the marathon.
So it is one small considerate point that which guests appreciates sets Hotel Jen apart from other hotels.

Though still under renovation, our stay at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore was enjoyable and didnt once the renovation put us off during our stay. The location is very close to Orchard room and the hotel provides complimentary hourly shuttle to ION Orchard, Takashimaya & even Shangri La Hotel Singapore.
Furthermore Hotel Jen’s concept is well accepted by younger generations with their consideration for modern travelers enhances the overall experiences.
With such pleasant stay even for current state, we are extremely excited to experience the brand new hotel again once the final refurbishment is completed.
