St Regis SingaporeRed Carpet Entrance
Entering the hotel, we were greeted with striking yet mesmerizing chandeliers. The opulent Chinoiserie décor lobby is lavishly decorated with throve of arts, polished marble floors and intricately designed furnishing.
We were led to the reception for check in, while providing our SPG membership & passport, we were awe by the massive marble frame mid-19th-century Chinese silk painting – A Gathering of Immortals.
Check in process was smooth, within minutes, we were ready to be pampered in this crème de la crème top range hotel from Starwood.
The St Regis Singapore hotel boasts a total of 299 elegantly appointed rooms & suites featuring chic interior design and modern comforts across 10 categories.
Our Executive Deluxe Room is awesomely spacious, elegantly designed with exquisitely furnishing, beautiful hand-cut crystal chandeliers and original art pieces.
It also features a king-size bed robed with St. Regis signature linens along with Jim Thompson silk throw pillows. There is also a day lounge by the window perfect for reading or relaxation and a work desk. Free high speed wifi is provided throughout the hotel as well.
A few minutes later, our own personal butler Mr Prasad came and introduce himself and offer his assistant to unpack our luggage and prepare us coffee or tea. Unpacking or packing our luggage seems too personal hence we politely decline but cappuccino and hot chocolate will be great. There is a menu of drinks our butler can always prepare for us anytime.
It is St Regis unique heritage for more than 100 years to provide butler service for all of its hotels, no request is too small to fulfill for a St. Regis Butler. (if you have the moola)
We were told by friends the butler could even prepare the bathtub for us if requested. Anyway we have yet to attain such prestige so we will skip the request for the time being.
The bathroom is all to love and shout about, spacious French marble bathroom, with a large free standing bathtub, AD Notam television, separated jet massage shower, dual vanity and self-defogging mirror.
Laboratoire Remède Premium Bathroom Amenities
Even the elevators are grandly designed with a velvet cushioned stool. We were asking ourselves why? By the time we sit on it, we have reached our floor.
Apparently the first St. Regis New York, built by John Jacob Astor IV, opened in 1904 is the tallest hotel in Manhattan and 100 years ago the lifts were not as fast as current hence it takes a good amount of time to reach upper floors hence sofa stool are provided for weary guests. Thus this has become an icon for every St Regis worldwide.
Chandelier view on the 2nd floor
Every St Regis properties boasts a grand chandelier & grand staircase however The St Regis Singapore is also home to some of world’s premier art collections boasting its museum quality private collection of over 70 works of art, including sculptures, paintings, and prints from renowned Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró to oriental acclaimed Georgette Chen, Cheong Soo Pieng and Li Chen.
There is a daily 45 mins art appreciation tour for in house residence guests at 6pm and is limited for maximum 8 persons.
The outdoor pool is an oasis surrounded by mini lush greenery, great for a quick dip, sunbathing or just to relax.
The Fitness Center opened 24 hours accessible by room key, is not very big but is sufficiently equipped with most cardio machines & strength training equipment.
As in house guests of The St Regis Singapore, we have complimentary access to Remède Spa’s wet lounge facilities which includes a oversize hydrotherapy jacuzzi pool, outdoor whirlpool, steam bath, sauna & a sensory lounge.
Sensory Lounge for pure relaxation
Apart from the comfort of our room, we certainly enjoyed the facilities at Wet lounge dropping by twice or thrice a day for some pampering.
Brasserie Les Saveurs is The St Regis Singapore’s French specialty fine dine restaurant and is also the place where hotel guests enjoy their daily buffet breakfast.
The restaurant is luxuriously designed with dangling chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tropical gardens and sparkling pool in a romantic and casual setting.
European Cheese, Assorted Nuts & Hot Food
Our Breakfast – Egg Benedict with Smoked Salmon, Sausages, Roast Potatoes, Red Beans & Sauteed Mushrooms
Our stay at The St Regis Singapore was splendid from the bespoke service of our butler and staffs providing us uncompromising service to the luxurious comfortable bed room that we never feel like leaving. Great dining options as both Yan Ting & La Brezza we tried were magnificent and not to forget the pampering Wet Lounge.
Suitable for weekend getaways & staycation, The St Regis Singapore is definitely an unparalleled symbol of ultimate luxury that one could indulge.
