The 5 star Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort is nestled in the northern pristine part of Chaweng Beach that offers the much needed tranquility ideal for a getaway yet merely less than 10 mins away from the epic center of Chaweng Beach.
The lush green well ornamented garden welcomed us upon entering the hotel’s compound follow by a distinctively traditional Chinese architecture lobby which immediately caught our eye. Out of curiosity we asked the receptionist regarding the architecture only to know the hotel’s owner family was from China before settling down in Koh Samui hence the fusion of Chinese & Thai elements which are embedded throughout the hotel creating a distinctive yet harmonious design.

Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort features 6 categories of room types each with their own unique designs that presents total different experiences for hotel guests. So it is not unusual to be surprised why the concept design is different & start asking the location of the different part in hotel? For example: Deluxe Plunge Pool & Deluxe Pool Access.
Our deluxe plunge pool room is 86 sq meter in size that comes with our very own plunge pool, a semi outdoor bathroom, satellite television, mini bar, individually controlled air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, electronic in-room safe, IDD telephone with voicemail and work desk with power sockets. Also free high speed internet is available throughout the hotel.

Upon entering the room, we were caught by surprise with the romantic decor by the hotel. Coincidentally our anniversary is just around the corner but since there were no prior arrangement, we find it very thoughtful from the hotel.

We never miss the spa treatment during our stay in Anantara Hotels as their Anantara Spa offers one of the best luxury spa treatments. Starting with warm herbal tea before our massage, we were then led to the well appointed spa room.
The Signature Anantara Spa is definitely recommended. The spa treatment begins with a royal foot ritual that cleanse our foot with milk & scrubs. Incorporating their signature blends of oil that induces relaxation, the soothing massage combines several purpose design movements that stimulates circulation & restores the flow of energy along the meridian lines.
Our well experience masseuse expertly pin point the sore & stressed parts before applying the right amount pressure to help alleviate the soreness.

We were presented with the menu. What we like bout the menu is the fewer choices, unlike some restaurant with too many choices that we are uncertain how to choose, the menu here is concise with 4 or 5 choices in each section. The fewer choice also indicates the selections are the chef’s specialty.
Celebrating our 9th anniversary, we were recommended the Candle Light Degustation which consist 5 courses with wine pairing & a cocktail sorbet in between for the price of THB3,999++ per pax.
You can also order 1 Candle Light Degustation while your partner orders additional ala carte as the Degustation portion is suffice to share but certainly wont make 2 person full, so by ordering another starter & main course, you get to taste more food this way.

The meal at Tree Tops Sky Dining & Bar was exquisite, refined & artfully presented. The braised Australian beef short rib & Provencal rack of lamb were very tender yet juicy & packed with awesome flavours while the lobster bisque was intense & concentrated with lobster flavour we actually thought we were munching on lobster.
Also dining experience is fun, with the suggestions from our salt guru, we tasted each meal with different salt that contribute a different dimension on the same food.
Last but not least, the devilish dessert that will capture any woman’s heart. The presentation itself is a captive art worthy to be showcase portrays the creativeness of the chef curating the menu.

Anantara Lawana Koh Samui organizes staff & guests cocktail get together every month where higher executive staffs will mingle around with hotel guests in a very casual cocktail party. Guests are welcome to provide feedback on every aspect of their stay even to the general manager. Kudos to the management for organizing it!
The secluded area makes Anantara Lawana Koh Samui a great getaway choice yet close to the center of Chaweng Beach. There is no shuttle from hotel to Chaweng but you can take tuk tuk or like us rent a motorbike to get around Koh Samui.
