Arriving Milan

Milan Malpensa Airport

1. Malpensa Express Trains

Malpensa Express Trains connects Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 to either Milano Cadorna or Milano Centrale. Both stations are served by Milan Subway. Journey takes up to 36 mins to Cadorna & 55 mins to Centrale.

Fare: one-way €11.00, round trip in a single day €14.50. Your ticket must be bought and validated in the station before boarding.

Note : If you arrived in Terminal 2 (which is mostly for budget airlines such as Easyjet), it is advisable to take a bus directly to Milan instead as there is only 1 free shuttle bus operating every 20 mins from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 and it is often crowded thus waiting time can be very long.

For More Info : Malpensa Express Trains

2. Bus

Busses leave approx every 20 minutes for Centrale Station and Linate airport, costing about €7.50 (€15 return ticket). Journey takes 40 to 60 mins. Buses are the best bet if you arrive at Terminal 2.

There is always a bus waiting, and they usually wait until the bus is completely full before departing.

Linate Airport

1. Bus no. 73

Bus no. 73 outside the terminal building goes to San Babila Square, in the city centre, which is served by metro line MM1. The bus runs every 10 mins and costs €1.

To catch the right 73 bus from the airport to Milan, look for direction “SAN BABILA M1” and avoid Line 73 buses directed to “S.FELICINO” (be very careful not to take a bus to San Felicino, not only in the wrong direction, but you would also be considered without a valid ticket for that journey) .

2. Bus no. X73

Bus X73 connects Linate airport and San Babila Square, in the city centre and vice versa. Only operates on Weekdays 7am to 8pm. The bus runs every 20 mins & cost €1. Journey takes approx 30 mins.

3. Starfly Shuttle Bus

Starfly Bus connects Linate airport to Milan’s center running every 30 minutes and tickets cost €5 per adult (ticket sold at local newsagent and on board). This bus also stop on route at Lambrate railway station. The journey takes approximately 27 minutes.

For More Info : Starfly Bus

Milan Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio airport)

1. Orio Shuttle

Direct bus from Orio Airport to Milano Centrale station, which is probably the best choice. Departure times may vary, but buses generally run every half hour during the day, less often at night, and take about 1 hour or more.

Adult one-way fare: €8.90. Tickets are sold in Orio Al Serio Airport in Bergamo and at the Central Train Station in Milan.

Be at the Milan Bus stop at least 15 minutes before nominal departure time, or you may get left behind. Tickets can be purchased online, but sellers at the airport and train station will offer 3 tickets for price of 2.

For More Info : Orio Shuttle

2. Zani Viaggi Bus

Bus service from Bergamo Airport to Milano Centrale station with a stop at the Cascina Gobba MM2 station on the North Eastern outskirts of Milan. Adult fare: €9ish one way. Tickets sold at an office in the airport or online.

For More Info : Zani Viaggi

  1. Hi,

Do you know if 73 bus runs until midnight? And if one buys a 24h ticket, will it be valid in metro and to take buses?

    Thanks, Henrique

  2. Hi Tommy,

Understand that there is some outlets in Milan for Branded goods. Any idea where is the place and how to go?

Will appreciated if you could share information on that.

    Cheers
    Joyce Tan

    • Dear Joyce, there are 2 outlets in Milan, one is in Italy the other one is at border of Switzerland. It is better to shop in Italy as currency using Euro while Fox Town in Swiss uses Swiss France which price is higher.

    Thanks in advance!
