Our annual Bangkok trip, we were excited to be invited to Le Meridien Bangkok, one of the top notch luxury hotel in Bangkok as they just introduced a new Spanish Fiesta – Culinary Carnivale theme buffet at Latest Recipe Restaurant.
Latest Recipe, Le Meridien Bangkok
Le Meridien Bangkok is just a stone throw away from Patpong night market and enjoys easy access to Bangkok’s attractions & shopping areas with either taxis or metro.
Spanish Culinary Buffet Station
Upon arriving, we were greeted by Khun Sirirat & she guided us to the restaurant while giving us explanation of the hotel & the latest buffet theme.
A variety of Spanish special recipe and menu items are inspired by their talented chefs from Le Méridien Barcelona thus ensuring guests an authentic Spanish culinary delights.
Our last trip to Spain was 3 years back, although we frequently fly to Europe but mainly France, Italy & Germany thus authentic Spanish cuisine was dearly missed. Therefore we were looking very forward to the meal.
By 12pm, the restaurant was packed with customers eagerly trying out the dishes. Fell in love with the Pork Knuckle immediately after trying it, the meat was roast to perfection, tender & juicy.
Not to be miss is the Jamón Serrano, Spanish Cured Ham often prized as a gourmet food which were known as a delicacy even in the days of the Roman Empire. Its rich, intense taste pairs wonderfully with melon, cheese, olives that are available on buffet spread.
Fresh Crabs & Cocktail Shrimps
The Prawns & Crabs were fresh & the spicy sauce just added an extra kick, tantalizing our taste buds slowly increasing our appetite. The homemade Spanish Pork Sausages were very juicy as well.
Surprisingly they also serve Tarte Flambee, a traditional Alsatian dish composed of bread dough thinly rolled out & covered with crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and lardons. We came to know this dish when traveling in Strasbourg, France hence were quite happy to be able to enjoy it again.
One of the busiest station, the Japanese Corner where the chef diligently preparing sushi & sashimi for guests.
Tamago, Maguro, Kani, Chuka Wakame
Apart from Spanish food, there is also some Thai dishes such as Tom Yam. As Tom Yum lovers, we can say, Latest Recipe serves one of the best Tom Yum we ever tasted.
Usually international hotels’ chef would generalized the taste of spicy food to suite foreigners taste however the tom yum served in Le Meridien Bangkok was exquisite, spicy, sour & rich in fragrance herbs. Kudos to the chef!
What’s Spanish cuisine without the famous refreshing Sangria? There is a choice of Strawberry Sangria or Grape Sangria to cool off the hot weather in Bangkok.
For dessert lovers, there wont be disappointment as a variety of divine desserts awaits you. Delicious cakes, heavenly chocolates, flavorful ice creams and healthy fruits. A grand way to end our buffet at Le Meridien Bangkok.
The buffet is available every day lunch & for Sunday Brunch. Sunday brunch has more special menu including Pan fried Foie Gras with Port wine sauce, Lobster Gratin & much more. There is also cooking class by the culinary team. Definitely worth the price!
Baht 695++ per person for lunch buffet and
