The stylist & contemporary designed Gobo Upstairs Lounge & Grill located in Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur proudly offers some of the best steaks in Kuala Lumpur.
The award winning steakhouse pride itself by offering guests multi choices of different prime cuts that are cooked to perfection according to each guests preference. During our stay in Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we managed to try it out.
Another view of the restaurant
We started off with Mushroom tea a very light yet loaded with wild mushroom umami consomme mixed with several types of enoki, shitake & oyster mushroom. The crunchy deep fried tempura oyster mushroom adds some texture while soaking the broth enhances the flavour.
Definitely one of the must try dishes & the highlight of our meal. Worth the time to drop in and try.
Grilled Scallop & Crab Tartar – RM48++
Another starter we ordered was the Grilled Scallop & Crab Tartar, would say a normal dish and might need improvement on Crab Tartar.
Prawn Sauteed in New Orlean Style – RM96++
Our first main King Prawn Sauteed in New Orlean Style with garlic, lemon juice, Italian parsley & tomato ragout is very succulent & juicy with the tanginess of the lemon. The large size of the prawn makes this dish even more satisfying.
250gm Australian Wagyu Rib Eye Marble Score 7 – RM215++
How not to order a steak when dining in a steakhouse? We were recommended by the waiter to try their 250gm Australian Wagyu Rib Eye with a marble score of 7. Rib eye has more flavour due to higher saturation of fat that produces the wonderful flavour. The meat was tender & juicy and most importantly cooked to our medium rare preference.
Dessert: Frozen Hazelnut Ice Globe – RM28
Another highlight of our meal is definitely this Frozen Hazelnut Ice Globe dessert, it literally melts in your mouth instantly with creamy texture. Very quite similar to the feeling of eating Royce chocolate but we think this is better!
Dessert: Chocolate Lava with Vanilla bean Ice Cream
Another dessert we tasted is the chocolate lava with Vanilla bean Ice cream, molten hot chocolate infused with dried orange oozes out when slicing the cake, pairs well with icy cold vanilla ice cream giving an unique sensation of hot & cold in one bite.
Overall we enjoyed our dinner with great atmosphere and friendly services though they should also have permanent front stuff to greet diners. The highlight of our meal definitely goes to the mushroom tea, steak & frozen hazelnut ice globe which definitely worth a trip to try it.
