JustFly is an aggregator website that searches over 400 airlines and 900,000 hotels worldwide to ensure users obtained the best choices in terms of price and convenience.
We usually use JustFly to compare flight availability and pricing. The user-friendly website makes it easy for us to plan our travels.
2. Book during the Promotion Period
Most hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, and AccorHotels would have a regular promotional period that offers substantial discounts up to 50% off or free breakfast.
Alternatively, look out for their bonus points sales which might offer up to 100% bonus points.
3. Accumulate Frequent Flier Points
If you are travelling frequently, you might want to stick with a fixed hotel chain, airline or alliance such as OneWorld or Star Alliance.
This would allow you to accumulate frequent guest’s status. Frequent guests in airlines and hotels often receive better perks such as upgrades, free breakfast, lounge access, and others.
4. Use Your Credit Card Points wisely
We never redeem our credit card points for nonother than flight miles. So, no cashback nor redeeming shopping vouchers for us. Credit card points allow us to fly business and first-class flight at a price cheaper than economy class!
Currently, we are using Maybank AMEX Reserve and Maybank Singapore Airline AMEX card to accumulate our flight miles. Holder earns 1 mile per RM1.00 for both local & overseas transactions.
This is the card you should swipe on all expenses especially on domestic transactions.
5. Research Transport Options
As first-timer to a new destination, we have no idea how to get around from places to another place. Hence we use Rome2Rio to find out what are the transport options available. Their transport options include bus, ferry, and train.
All you need is to key in your destinations and the search engine will automatically show all the available options.
6. Rent a Portable Modem
With the ease of technology, it is crucial for us to stay connected hence we usually rent our portable modem from RoamingMan. The portable modem allows up to 5 gadgets to connect the wifi.
Occasionally during our travels, we need to make extra bookings on the go hence with portable wifi we are able to book immediately rather than finding a place that offers free wifi.
7. Utilize Best Price Guarantee
This is applicable to everyone, however, most travellers do not bother to check, while cost-sensitive frequent flyers are aware that there is a huge saving in Best Rate Guarantee.
Best Rate Guarantee works if you find a published rate on the Internet that is lower than what is published on the website you have book & file a claim on it. Most will match the lower rate & some will even provide more discount such as Marriott Hotels.
The guarantee does not apply to rates that are not publicly available, such as negotiated corporate or group rates, or discount rates offered only to members of groups or individuals who meet previously specified criteria, including AAA members, seniors, government employees.
