Mandarin Grill Reopens with a New Menu from Chef Luigi

Mandarin Grill at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur has reopened as of 11 November 2020 with an all-new menu following Chef de Cuisine Luigi Stinga’s gastronomic exploration of local and Asian cuisines.

Positioned to be the leading Italian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Mandarin Grill focuses on serving authentic Italian cuisine with a modern approach complemented with excellent grill selections. During the restaurant closure, Stinga and team explored the vibrant flavours of local cuisine and have integrated Asian ingredients into the latest menu.

On recommendations, the new menu features UovoE Tartufo is a slow-cooked organic egg served with smoked scamorza cream and salsify. Perfect as comfort food, this dish is complemented with freshly shaved black truffle.

Adding a touch of the local Malay cuisine into his creation, Stinga’s Cappalettois made with spicy beef rendang and served with aromatic beef & mushroom broth.

Another pasta dish that diners must sample when at Mandarin Grill is the Tagliolini served with pecorino cheese, black pepper and sea urchin.

Other signature dishes of the menu includes Agnello-lamb with white spring onion cream, potatoes & black lemon; as well as Babba’ Napoletano –traditional cake from Naples served with lemon cream, homemade Limoncello granite and nitro ice cream, among others.

Accompanied by an extensive list of premium champagne and wines from both old and new world, diners can look forward to a memorable dining experience with luscious wines paired with any of the new dishes.

 

Chef Stinga carries a wealth of culinary experience under his belt with stints at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy, such as 1-Michelin-star Restaurant I Salotti and L’Accanto; 2-Michelin-star Restaurant Quattro Passi, Il Pellicanoand Seta; and 3-Michelin-star Restaurant Piazza Duomo.

Reopening Specials

Mandarin Grill is open from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch, 12 to 2 pm and dinner, 6 to 10.30 pm. In celebration of the reopening, Mandarin Grill introduces Ladies Day every Wednesday throughout November where a group of four ladies who dine at the restaurant will only pay for the price of two(food only).
