International individual visitors will be allowed to enter, and Japan will reinstate visa waivers starting on 11 Oct 2022 as announced by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in New York.
Japan’s move to scrap most travel restrictions on foreign tourists in a move that looks set to
revive the tourism industry. Moreover, the yen slumped to its lowest levels against the dollar, making Japan an attractive destination for visitors from overseas.
Following the change, Japan will not require visas for short-term travellers from the United States and certain other countries, will scrap the daily entry cap of 50,000 people and visitors no longer need to book their trip with selected travel agents.
